Floyd Mayweather Adds to His Impressive Watch Collection
Floyd Mayweather, renowned for his extravagant lifestyle, has once again made headlines. The boxing champion, whose wealth is estimated at nearly $660 million, boasts a watch collection valued at around $100 million. Recently, he enhanced this collection by spending over $500,000 on new timepieces curated by a promising young jeweler.
A New Acquisition in Miami
On Thursday, during a visit to the Diamond District in downtown Miami, Mayweather shared his latest purchases on social media. “Right now, I am in Miami, at the Diamond District, Downtown,” he stated, introducing his jeweler, Eitan, who is known for being the youngest in the industry. “Little Eitan right here, I see him hustling in the diamond district, moving around. He brought me to the store and look what he sold me,” Mayweather added.
The Details of the Purchase
Eitan confirmed that he had sold Mayweather five stunning new watches. “I sold him all these watches, got my guy right, all this bag. This AP, buzzdown, got him right,” the jeweler remarked, showcasing the luxurious collection. While the exact models were not revealed, estimates suggest that three of the watches include:
- An Aquanaut Travel Time 5164A with black/grey straps, priced around $175,000
- An Aquanaut Jumbo 5168G with an orange strap, valued at approximately $150,000
- An Aquanaut Variant (like 5167R) with a green/black strap in rose gold with diamonds, estimated at $200,000
Combined, these models total approximately $525,000, although the total value of Mayweather’s new collection could reach nearly $1 million when considering the undisclosed watches.
Responding to Bankruptcy Rumors
Mayweather’s latest spending spree takes on added significance given recent rumors regarding his financial status. Claims of bankruptcy arose last month when Boxing Insider suggested that his $402 million real estate investment in Upper Manhattan was not verifiable in public records. Mayweather swiftly reacted, filing a $100 million lawsuit against Business Insider for the defamatory claims.
At The Real Deal’s New York City Forum on May 7, he emphatically dismissed the bankruptcy allegations, stating, “Everybody is entitled to their own opinion, but if that’s what you call having two private jets, owning 100 buildings, and being able to do what you want, then I’m pretty sure everybody is going bankrupt.”
Luxury Cars and Continued Success
In the days following the bankruptcy rumors, Mayweather showcased his wealth once more by purchasing four luxury cars for a total of $40 million. “When y’all make another video about me being broke, make sure you include this footage,” he remarked. Given his already extensive car collection of 100 unique vehicles, these acquisitions appear to counter the financial rumors.
With such significant investments and lavish purchases, it is clear that Floyd Mayweather continues to thrive financially, firmly contradicting any indications of money troubles.
