Martha Stewart Weighs In on Meghan Markle’s Brand
Martha Stewart recently shared her thoughts on Meghan Markle’s lifestyle brand, As Ever, during an interview with Yahoo Lifestyle.
Stewart said, “Meghan I don’t really know very well, and I hope she knows what she’s talking about.” As Ever offers products like raspberry spreads, teas, limited-edition wildflower honey, and edible flowers.
She emphasized the importance of authenticity in lifestyle branding, stating, “Authenticity, to me, is everything, and to be authentic and knowledgeable about your subject matter is extremely important.”
Praise for Gwyneth Paltrow
The 83-year-old lifestyle expert also took a moment to commend Gwyneth Paltrow for her achievements with her brand, Goop. “Gwyneth has been very successful; she created quite an interesting body of businesses,” Stewart noted. “She won an Oscar, for heaven’s sake, as an actress! She’s pretty powerful.”
Paltrow Responds to Rumored Feud with Markle
Earlier this year, Gwyneth Paltrow addressed the rumored feud with Meghan Markle in an interview with Vanity Fair. She mentioned, “I don’t know Meghan and Harry. I mean, I’ve met Meghan, who seems really lovely, but I don’t know her at all. Maybe I’ll try to get through their security detail and bring them a pie.”
Paltrow acknowledged that she wasn’t very familiar with Markle’s Netflix show, “With Love, Meghan,” or her brand but expressed her inclination to support her. “When there’s noise about certain women in the culture, I do have, always, a strong instinct to stand up for them,” she added. “I was raised to see other women as friends, not foes. I think there’s always more than enough to go around. Everybody deserves an attempt at everything that they want to try.”
The Two Ladies Share a Laugh
Stewart and Paltrow lightheartedly addressed their supposed rivalry after Paltrow claimed she did not know Markle well. While participating in an Instagram Q&A, Paltrow responded to a fan’s question about the rumored conflict by saying, “I genuinely do not understand this at all whatsoever.”
During the segment, she humorously panned her camera to reveal Markle sitting nearby at her kitchen table, eating a piece of pie. Markle also shared the lighthearted moment on her Instagram story, adding to the fun atmosphere surrounding the rumored feud.
