Revisiting the Legacy of CC Sabathia
While I typically have simple tastes—like enjoying a bit of relish in my tuna salad—recent days have been filled with surprising revelations and contrasting news about some prominent sports figures.
CC Sabathia: A Surprising Reputation
Until last week, I was unaware that CC Sabathia was regarded as an “All-time Yankee great.” My knowledge of him was limited to recognizing him as a commendable pitcher, worthy of a bobblehead night during his tenure with three different teams. However, I also noted that his weight often hindered his ability to be effective on the field, and he had a reputation for being rather uncouth, frequently using offensive language in public.
Nevertheless, over the past week, it has become increasingly challenging to encounter a tribute or a reflection on the Hall of Fame-bound Sabathia that doesn’t seem to exaggerate his achievements.
